fishing report - Oct 15
Updated: Tue Oct 15, 2024
Fishing report, 15 Oct. FAIR. Water slightly stained; 76 degrees; 1.52 feet below pool. Cooler weather has improved the fishing, especially for bass and hybrids, and the thermoclines continue to move deeper.
Bass are good, especially early and late in the day the bass have been feeding more predictably, closer to shoreline points, reeds and windblown current areas near bridges.
Hybrids have been good on live minnows and trolling, both Yankee and redneck rigs, the favored spoon seems to be the 2 inch Pet with a white feather, Coyotes continue to work well.
Catfish are good for daytime anglers using rod-and-reels with live minnows, cut bait, and shrimp. As the water continues to cool, try chumming an area first to get the catfish going. Cattle cubes are the least messy and easiest to handle for this chumming.
