fishing report
Updated: Thu Dec 18, 2025
Fishing reort,19 Dec- Water temps have stayed in the low 60's, very upper 50's, lake level has stayed around 6-12 inches low.All boat launches are open and usable.
There have been reports of greater salvinia infestation, and the TPWD has responded, members of the Tyler Fisheries Div have been out on spraying/decon missions, not only to Lake Palestine, but to several other lakes included in this region. If you come across their ops or barriers, please give them the space to do their thing, they are trying to improve fish habitat for us.Drain your boat at the point you exit a lake, leave as much open/draining as possible on the way home, and don't enter a lake with bilge/livewell/baitwell water in there.
Unless we get several days of sub-freezing temp in Jan or early Feb, the season is being set for an early crappie spawn and a great bass spawn.I'm set for trying out the crappie in the shallows by mid-Jan (again, if no freezes). You bass fishermen should start looking at the northern early spawning areas, Flat, Neches , and Kickapoo now for signs of pre-spawn/staging.
