Fishing repot- 1 May.
Weather has begun to stabilize, water temp is staying ing the mid 70's, so the fish aren't being chased back to the deeps every few days.
White bass have been good both trolling and casting, and hybrid stripers have been caught in in the same areas and on the same baits. Once again must urge caution- be sure you can tell white bass and hybrids apart. Don't try to use the broken stripes method, it is bogus, and the tooth patch method is difficult. Use the method described in the Annual guide.
Areas and times for this fishing are water over humps and road beds, early and late in the day, when there may be less wind. Be on the lookout for surface activity at anytime and just about anyplace, but that will be sporadic and short. Do not attempt to get close to to surface feeding activity with the big motor, it will drive the shad , and therefore the fish, away
Fishing Travel- this Summer, July and August 2026.
Am now planning my salmon fishing trips to Washington state. This is ocean fishing on party (head or charter) boats, going out from Westport. Dates I have selected are Jul 20 fishing 21 and 22, and Aug 24 fishing 25, 26, and 27.
If you are interested in either going with me or going at another time, or would like more info on this fishing or area, give me a call or text 903-279-9002 (leave a voicemail).
